The Storm

Did you ever stop to think
That someday you'd be here
A place so deep and dark
To face your biggest fear

The heartbreak of a lifetime
The ultimate in despair
The death of someone you love
No loss could ever compare

There is no guide for grieving
It's as personal as your thoughts
One moment you feel a tinge of hope
The next your stomach?s in knots

How does one get past
Feeling so all alone
How does one get back
To the only life they've known

The life they've always known
Will never be the same
The sun won't rise; the stars won't shine
Only seasons of cold and rain

The cold is just a reason
To wrap yourself up warm
The cold will melt away
As you begin to weather the storm

The rain is oh so healing
It washes away the fears
Pitter, patter, pitter patter, pitter pat
It's the heaven's form of tears

The heavens mourn with all who cry
They share in all our pain
The tears all accumulate
And through winter there comes the rain

The cold will change to warmth
The rain to cloudy skies
The storm as we once knew it
Will change before our eyes

I'll never see the cold and rain
As just another storm
I?ll always know there's someone who
Needs a reason to wrap up warm?
